Paper Moon opened in Etiler in 1996 — the Akmerkez address Enrica and Pio Rossi named after the film and brought the Milan format to. The kitchen runs handmade pasta, the seafood pappardelle, the gorgonzola gnocchi, the spaghetti vongole; the room is leather banquette and warm wood, designed for the long table that the Istanbul socialite calendar still organises itself around.
Reserve the corner banquette for Saturday lunch, share the pasta course, and stay for the second espresso. The valet is the easy way in; the Akmerkez parking is the alternative.
