Heuriger Zimmermann is the family heuriger on Mitterwurzergasse in Neustift am Walde — one of the few Vienna heurigers that runs year-round rather than seasonally. The format is the chestnut-shaded garden in summer and the Stube panelled rooms in winter, the wine from the family's own vineyards in the surrounding Hügel, and the hot buffet of Schweinsbraten, Knödel and Kraut that distinguishes Zimmermann from the cold-buffet heurigers further down the hill.
Take the lunch in the garden in summer with the hot buffet and the estate Riesling. The winter version moves indoors but holds the same kitchen.
