Novikov opened in 2011 as Arkady Novikov's London bet — two restaurants, one address, the basement bar that does the heavy lifting after midnight. The Asian Restaurant is the larger room and the one most regulars book; the Italian sits opposite and runs a calmer service; the lounge bar holds the table that has nowhere else to go. The clientele is the Mayfair international crowd at full volume.
Book the Asian Restaurant for the dinner at 21h, take the dim sum and the black cod, descend to the lounge for the bar. The Italian is for the calmer lunch.
