- Metropolitan Hotel, Old Park Lane
- Also Nobu Berkeley Street, Nobu Shoreditch
- Black cod miso, yellowtail jalapeño, the canon
- Lunch and dinner, year round
The Park Lane Nobu opened in 1997 as the first European outpost of the Matsuhisa-De Niro group and remains the address that the regulars default to over the louder Berkeley Street sister. The room is small for a Nobu, the view sits over Hyde Park, and the canon — black cod, yellowtail jalapeño, the rock shrimp — has not moved in three decades. The crowd is American finance, European hotel guests, the dinner that does not need a story.
Book the early sitting for the park view, take the omakase if it is the first visit, otherwise the black cod and the new style salmon. The Berkeley Street room is for the louder evening; this one is for the dinner that goes home at 22h30.
The original European Nobu.
