Eftalya occupies a three-storey waterside mansion in Arnavutköy, with the kitchen working through a wider preparation list than the neighbouring fish houses — the catch comes back grilled, on the skewer, fried, roasted, in meatball, in the fasıl version. The view runs up the strait to the bridge and the room scales easily from a table for two to a long family banquet.
Sit on the second-floor terrace at sunset, take the hot starter selection, and pace the catch across the night. The room runs late at weekends; reserve the earlier dinner if a calmer evening is the point.
