Comptoir Darna has been the legible centre of festive Marrakech since 1999 — the room every taxi driver knows, the address every first-time visitor is asked to try once. The kitchen is Moroccan and dependable rather than ambitious; the dining room exists to set up the floor show, the live Gnawa, and the DJ run that closes the night.
Book the upstairs banquette for a view of the dancer's entrance, ask for the table near the speaker only if you mean to stay until close, and treat dinner as the prelude. The cocktails are stronger than they read on the menu.
