The Palomar opened on Rupert Street in 2014 as the London project of the Machneyuda team from Jerusalem and remains the Soho room where the open kitchen at the zinc counter is the actual reason to come. The cooking is contemporary Levantine — Yemenite, North African, Sephardic — and the counter at the front holds fourteen seats facing the line. The back room takes the rest.
Book the counter for dinner at 20h, take the kubaneh bread, the polenta Jerusalem-style, the octopus mashawsha. The cocktails are correct.
