Signor Sassi opened on Knightsbridge Green in 1984 and has remained in the same family for four decades — the classical Italian kitchen, the linen tablecloths, the singing waiters on the right evenings, the lunch the regulars order without looking at the menu. Book the lunch on a Wednesday, take the linguine vongole and the veal Milanese, finish with the tiramisu. The dinner can run loud on a Saturday.
