Signor Sassi

The Knightsbridge Italian institution since 1984 — Sassi family operation, the linen tablecloths, the lunch that has not changed in forty years.

Signor Sassi opened on Knightsbridge Green in 1984 and has remained in the same family for four decades — the classical Italian kitchen, the linen tablecloths, the singing waiters on the right evenings, the lunch the regulars order without looking at the menu. The clientele is the Knightsbridge old guard and the Middle Eastern families staying at the Berkeley and Mandarin Oriental nearby.

Book the lunch on a Wednesday, take the linguine vongole and the veal Milanese, finish with the tiramisu. The dinner can run loud on a Saturday.

The Knightsbridge Italian that does not move.
