Momo

Mourad Mazouz's Heddon Street Moroccan — the pre-Sketch original, the Marrakech room imported to Mayfair, the dinner with the mint tea.

Momo opened on Heddon Street in 1997 as Mourad Mazouz's first London room — the Marrakech-styled Moroccan that pre-dated Sketch by five years and remains, almost three decades on, the most reliable Moroccan address in central London. The kitchen does the tagines and the couscous without departure; the lounge bar in the basement runs the late North African evening; the courtyard terrace handles the summer.

Book the dinner at 20h, take the harira and the lamb tagine with prunes, finish with the mint tea. The basement bar after dinner is the actual Mourad signature.
