Blandford Comptoir

Xavier Rousset's Blandford Street room — the wine-bar format with a serious Mediterranean kitchen, the Marylebone lunch the wine trade defaults to.

Blandford Comptoir opened on Blandford Street in 2015 as Xavier Rousset's Marylebone wine bar — the format being a 400-bottle Mediterranean-leaning list assembled by a Master Sommelier with a kitchen calibrated to support it. The room is small, the food is the Italian-French Mediterranean that wine pairs to, and the lunch is the most reliable in the neighbourhood for the table of four who want the bottle to be the centrepiece.

Book the lunch on a Tuesday, take the burrata and the pappardelle with ragù, ask Xavier to choose the bottle. The dinner is for the longer table.
