La Trattoria has held the Italian-in-Marrakech position from a Guéliz art deco villa since 1974 — handmade pasta, risotto, slow-braised meats, and the dependable Italian wines that travel well in this part of the country. The pool-side garden and the indoor dining rooms split the year cleanly: terrace from April, the salon from November.
Reserve the poolside table at lunch and the indoor banquette for dinner. Order the pasta from the daily list rather than the standard menu; the kitchen still hand-cuts the pappardelle.
