Da Paolino

Dinner under the lemon trees at Marina Grande — the Capri table that has been the answer to the question of where to eat for forty years.

You eat under actual lemon trees, in actual fruit, in a garden that has been a restaurant since 1969. The format is set — twelve antipasti chosen from a trolley before you sit down, a primo of ravioli capresi, a secondo of fish, lemon profiteroles, limoncello. The negotiation is only over the wine.

Book through your hotel in March or April; the September tables are the hardest. Ask for a corner of the garden, not the centre, and arrive at nine, not eight.

Book it for the antipasti trolley alone.
