Forte dei Marmi

The Ocean Drive Tuscan room imported from the Versilia coast — the most credible old-school Italian dining room on the strip.

Forte dei Marmi sits at the south end of Ocean Drive and runs the Tuscan kitchen — fresh pasta cut in the back, black truffle in season, branzino on the grill — with the kind of service register that has held the room intact through two decades of South Beach turnover. The dining room is one of the few left on the strip that still works as a dinner-only proposition.

Book the corner table at the front for the people-watching, the back for the conversation. Take the tagliolini with truffle, the bistecca on the grill, the panna cotta. The address is the right answer for the Italian guest who already knows Sant Ambroeus.

The dinner that does not need a hotel.
