Il Mirtillo sits on the road between Carouge and Veyrier, far enough from the centre to feel like a destination rather than a convenience. Paolo Venezian opened it in 2006 and named it after the blueberry of the Dolomites — the fruit he ate on holidays in the Italian mountains, the Italian mountains he put into the menu. The room has exposed wooden beams, white tablecloths and the terrace for summer, and the cooking follows the seasons and the northern Italian larder.
