Club 55 is the Pampelonne institution and remains the address that justifies itself by existing. The Colmont family has run it since 1955, the menu has barely changed, and the booking process is the same now as it was thirty years ago. The lunch is the point — the food is correct, the wine is colder than expected, and the table turns over once.
Book three weeks ahead, take the crudités and the daurade, sit at 13h30, and leave at 16h. The address remains the first lunch I propose for a guest who has never done Pampelonne, and the address I do not propose twice in a stay.
