The 1910 César Ritz commission re-opened under Mandarin in April 2021 after a four-year restoration that returned the glass dome, the chandelier of the Salón Real and the marquetry to their original drawings — and the result is now, five years on, the single most considered hotel address in Spain. The lobby is the lobby of the city; the corner suites give onto the Prado and the Retiro; the spa under the building is the only one in central Madrid that holds up against the Mandarin standard in Paris or Hong Kong.
