- Miami Design District
- Opened February 2021 — second COTE after New York
- Korean barbecue × American steakhouse
- Michelin-starred · Simon Kim
Simon Kim opened the first COTE in the Flatiron District in 2017 and it became the first Michelin-starred Korean barbecue restaurant in the world. Miami followed in February 2021, in the Design District, and earned a star of its own. The idea is exact: the fire and the sharing of Korean barbecue, the dry-aging and the wine programme of an American steakhouse, and grills set into the tables so the cooking happens in front of you.
Order the Butcher's Feast if it is a first visit — four cuts, the accompaniments, and no decisions to make. The room is loud in the good way, the service is drilled, and the wine list is more ambitious than the format suggests.
If you want fire without the barbecue. HONŌ, opening on the sixty-fifth floor of the E11EVEN tower in late 2026, works the same instinct through teppanyaki rather than Korean grills — premium cuts, cooked in front of you, with the city underneath. It is the closest thing Miami will have to COTE's proposition at altitude.
The room that proved Korean barbecue could hold a star.
